Gas Dash is a free browser game. We collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking of your play. This page explains exactly what is stored, where, and why.
Who is responsible
The game is run by fngl.games, Denmark. Questions, or requests to see or delete data: hello@fngl.games.
What is stored on your device
The game keeps a few settings in your browser's local storage, so it remembers them next time. They never leave your device, except your initials when you choose to submit a score (see below).
| Name | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
gas-dash:hero | The runner you picked | So you keep your runner |
gas-dash:theme | The theme you picked | So you keep your theme |
gas-dash:highscore | Your best score on this device | Shown on the start screen |
gas-dash:initials | The three letters you last entered | Pre-filled next time you make the Hall of Fumes |
gas-dash:lang | The language you picked | So the game stays in your language |
gas-dash:setup-seen | That you've seen the runner and theme screen | So Run! goes straight into a run after your first visit |
gas-dash:mp-name | The name you last played multiplayer with | Pre-filled next time |
gas-dash:tutorial | Which moves you've already made (dodge, jump, slide, fart) | So the game stops showing you how |
You can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. The game still works without them; it just forgets your choices.
The Hall of Fumes
If a run makes the high-score list and you choose to save it, we store your three initials, the score, the runner you used and the date, and show them publicly in the Hall of Fumes. Please don't use initials that identify you if you'd rather not. The list keeps the top 50 scores; an entry disappears when it's pushed out. To have an entry removed, contact us.
To stop cheating and abuse, the server briefly uses your IP address to limit how many scores can be sent. It is held in memory for at most 10 minutes and is not written to disk or used for anything else.
Multiplayer
When you play together, the name you type is shown to the other players in the same game, with your runner and how far you run. The server keeps it in memory only while the game lasts and never writes it down. A game is reached with a random three-character key, which only works while its lobby is open.
Hosting
The game and the Hall of Fumes are hosted by Fly.io on servers in Stockholm, Sweden (EU). The Hall of Fumes data is backed up daily; backups are kept for 5 days.
Children
Gas Dash is made for children. It has no accounts, no chat and asks for no personal details. The only things a player can enter are three initials with a score for the Hall of Fumes and, in multiplayer, a name that only the other players in that game see. We ask players not to use initials that identify them. Ads, when shown, are never personalised (see above). A parent or guardian can ask us to remove a Hall of Fumes entry at hello@fngl.games.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete data about you, and you can complain to your data protection authority (in Denmark: Datatilsynet). Contact us at hello@fngl.games.
